Flemenstar is “once in a lifetime horse”

Flemensfirth’s son Flemenstar (7g Flemensfirth-Different Dee, by Beau Sher) looked an outstanding prospect when winning a novice chase at Naas on Sunday. The seven-year-old, also a point-to-point and hurdles winner, drew three and a half lengths clear of the classy Lambro to land his second chasing victory and trainer Peter Casey now plans to step him up to Grade 1 company for his next outing. "It’s good to have one like him now and then, he’s a once-in-a lifetime horse," Casey told www.racingpost.com. "We’ll go to Leopardstown now for the G1 Arkle Chase and step up in trip after that. It’s desperate ground out there and he probably didn’t like it, but he did it well when they came to him." Flemenstar was bred by Donal Barnwell and was bought for 40,000 euros as a yearling by his owner Stephen Curran.
