Fourth Stakes-Winner for Scat Daddy

Talented colt Swag Daddy (2c Scat Daddy x Mrs Filio, by Eastern Echo) scored a tenacious victory in the $65,000 Damon Runyon Stakes at Aqueduct on Sunday.

Now trained by Rick Dutrow, after starting his career with Derek Ryan, Swag Daddy finished hard with a determined burst to score a last stride head win in the 1 mile 70yds contest.

“We always knew he was a nice horse,” said winning owner Eric Fein.

“This is our first step. We know how good he is. Maybe we’ll go to Florida with him, or maybe we’ll stay here.”

A $72,000 yearling purchase, who then made $170,000 at the OBS March 2YO Sale, Swag Daddy is a half-brother to stakes-placed What a Tale and Anjorie from Mrs Filio.

He has won two of five starts and is the fourth stakes-winner for his young sire Scat Daddy, who has posted 26 first crop winners in total led by Graded winners Daddy Long Legs, Finale and Shared Property.
