Fox Rocks for Flemensfirth in G2 Chase

The Ted Walsh-trained Foxrock (6g Flemensfirth-Midnight Light, by Roselier) carried Barry Connell’s colours to victory in the G2 Woodlands Park 100 Club Novice Chase at Naas on Saturday to give more big-race glory for Flemensfirth. The six-year-old booked his ticket to the Cheltenham Festival with an impressive seven-length victory from Sizing Gold under Danny Mullins. “He jumps and stays and if he stays sound we'll have plenty of fun with him,” Walsh told www.irishracing.com Connell added: “The plan is to go for the Ten Up Novice Chase at Navan next month and then the four-miler at Cheltenham. I'd be happier to go there rather than the RSA Chase. “He handles that ground well and is going the right way - Sizing Gold was jumping really well but our fella has an engine and kept moving up beside him. He's an exciting horse for the future and hopefully next year we can step him up into Grade 1 company.” Foxrock, who was bred by Geoffrey Thompson, cost £75,000 as a breezer at DBS’s Newbury Sale in November 2011 and won his only point-to-point start a year later.
