Pas De Soucis (Footstepsinthesand) winning the Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr

French black-type for improving Footsteps filly

Trainer Robert Collet believes that there could be better to come from lightly-raced Pas De Soucis (3f Footstepsinthesand-Whip And Win, by Whipper) after the three-year-old scored in Listed company on Friday.

The Footstepsinthesand filly saw off a dozen rivals to take the Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr over seven furlongs in the colours of breeders Anne-Marie Hayes and Ballantines Racing Stud.

“She’s always been an interesting prospect, but had some minor niggles after her run in the Prix Finlande earlier this year,” Collet told TDN. “We sent her to the farm and she came back into training in August, and has been fine ever since. She needed the race at Compiegne last time, has improved a lot for it and showed it today. “I think she can improve further and will be kept in training next year. Before then, she will run in the G3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud.”
