Moonwalk in Paris (4g Oratorio x Shining Glory, by Singspiel) became the latest stakes-winner for his sire Oratorio when saluting in the Group III Prix Edmond Blanc at Saint-Cloud on Sunday.
Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, Moonwalk in Paris took out the one mile contest by half a length with Christophe Soumillon in the saddle despite racing greenly to the line.
“Moonwalk in Paris hasn’t stopped improving since last year and that was his first race on a left-handed course,” said Jean-Claude Rouget.
“We like to use waiting tactics with him, because he’s kind of stiff and needs to warm up before making his move. The next logical step is the [May 1] Group II Prix du Muguet [back here] and, if all is well, he will come back for that.”
Moonwalk in Paris is the 17th stakes-winner for Oratorio and is the only winner for his dam Shining Glory, who comes from the family of Group I winners Agnes World, Dubai Destination and Librettist.
