South African Stakes-Winner for Choisir

Choisir added a new stakes-winner to his tally with a victory in the Listed Fairview Wines Sophomore Sprint at Kenilworth in South Africa on Saturday for Sir Frenchie (3g Choisir x Volando, by Viscount).

Prepared by Justin Snaith, Sir Frenchie was Group III placed previously and turned in a career best performance to win the 1200 metre sprint by a head.

An $82,500 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for Paul Lafferty from the Attunga Stud draft, the son of Choisir is the first winner for metro winning Viscount mare Volando, a half-sister to Group II winner Vezalay.

Sir Frenchie is the 87th stakes-winner for Choisir and is another success for the double Danehill as his grand-dam Tactfully is by Flying Spur.
