Dylan Thomas’s outstanding son Dylan Mouth (4c Dylan Thomas-Cottonmouth, by Noverre) proved much too good for his opposition when winning the G3 Premio Carlo d’Alessio in Rome on Sunday.
The four-year-old, bred by Azienda Agricola Mariano, won last season’s G2 Italian Derby and G1 Gran Premio del Jockey Club (pictured) and he looks set for another step up to the top grade after this three-length success.
Winning trainer Stefano Botti told EBN: “He is a much better horse now than last year. He has improved a lot, physically and mentally. He is more relaxed in the early stages and obviously saved a lot of power for the finish.
“The G1 Gran Premio di Milano is the main target for the first half of the season, then we will see. His owner Felice Villa is keen to try some big targets abroad in the second part of the season.”
