Trainer Jean-Claude Rouget believes the Peintre Celebre colt Xanadou (3c Peintre Celebre-Doohulla, by Stravinsky) has a live chance of landing the G1 Prix Jean Prat following an easy success at Chantilly on Saturday.
The progressive three-year-old easily saw off British raider Archbishop as he comprehensively landed the G3 Prix Paul de Moussac over a mile.
“This is a very good horse,” Rouget told Jour de Galop. “He will now go for the Prix Jean Prat run over the same course and distance and I think he has the potential to win it.”
Xanadou was bred by Yeguada Milagro and was bought for a bargain 30,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
