G2 two-year-old success for Galileo

The incredible Galileo bandwagon rolled on at the Curragh on Sunday when the Aidan O’Brien-trained David Livingston (2c Galileo-Mora Bai, by Indian Ridge) took the G2 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes. Seamie Heffernan made all the running to win the mile contest by half a length from the highly-regarded Akeed Mofeed. “I was happy enough to bowl along and he got the mile well. It’s never ideal to make all the running in any race but he fought hard for me,” said Heffernan. “I thought the extra furlong would play to my strengths a bit and as this was a Group 2 you would think the next step would be a Group 1.” Aidan O’Brien added: “He's had a hard enough time of it but there are options like the G1 Racing Post Trophy or those G1 races in France which he could go for.”
