The progressive Future Generation (3f Hurricane Run-Posterity, by Indian Ridge) gave Hurricane Run another black-type success at Leopardstown on Thursday night when taking the G3 Desmond Stakes.
The Ger Lyons-trained filly, who was bred by Ennistown Stud, made nearly all the running in the mile contest and proved three-quarters of a length for her rivals.
“That’s grand,” Lyons told www.irishracing.com. “She’s all heart and a lovely filly. She has been improving all summer and the whole idea was to get black type with her. She wasn’t 100 per cent right last time (when second in the G3 Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh).
“When I saw today’s race I thought she had a chance of winning and I knew she wouldn’t let us down. It’s nice to win a Group 3 with her and it’s very important for Ennistown Stud, her breeders.”
