Galileo’s Mondialiste Wins Arlington Million

Galileo’s amazing year of success continued in the US at the weekend where Mondialiste (6h Galileo x Occupandiste, by Kaldoun) won the $1million Grade I Arlington Million. Trained in the UK by David O’Meara, Mondialiste had enjoyed success previously in North America winning the Grade I Woodbine Mile in 2013 and finishing second to Tepin in the Grade I Breeders Cup Mile last year. Mondialiste came into this event off a last start second in the Grade II York Stakes and produced a tough performance to win this 1 and ¼ mile turf feature by a neck, his fifth win from 21 starts. “We stepped him up to a mile and a quarter at York and he ran a really good race, and once we saw that he handled the trip okay, we had this race in the back of our mind,” noted David O’Meara. “We thought we’d bring him over because he performed so well this side of the water last year.”

Mondialiste is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group I winner Intello from champion mare and outstanding producer Occupandiste.
