A full brother to Grade I winner Creative Cause, Destin (4h Giant’s Causeway x Dream of Summer, by Siberian Summer) scored a powerful win in the Grade II Breeder’s Cup Marathon at Del Mar on Friday.
Winner of the Grade II Tampa Bay Derby and second in the Grade I Belmont Stakes last season at three, the son of Giant’s Causeway had a touch of class on his side going into this assignment.
Prepared by Todd Pletcher, Destin won the 1 and ¾ mile staying test by more than a length taking his overall record to five wins and four placings from 13 starts with prizemoney in excess of $900,000.
