Tintangle (Yeats) winning a Listed Bumper at Fairyhouse

Gigginstown’s Tintangle looks another high-class mare for Yeats

Gigginstown Stud tasted Cheltenham Festival glory this year with Yeats mare Shattered Love (7m Yeats-Tracker, by Bustino), winner of the G1 JLT Novices’ Chase, and they had another top-notch representative of the sire in action at Fairyhouse on Tuesday evening.

The Gordon Elliott-trained Tintangle (5m Yeats-Connaught Hall, by Un Desperado) was a runaway bumper winner at Down Royal last month and was sent off favourite for the Listed Total Enjoyment Mares Flat Race at Fairyhouse.

Jockey Nina Carberry never looked in danger of not landing the black-type event, ultimately finishing two and a half lengths ahead of Willie Mullins’ previous winner Masons Daughter.

“He's a nice, big honest mare and one for next year. She is a chaser in the making,” said Elliott. “I thought that was decent. She’s looks nice and settled better than she ever settled there.”

Bred by Kevin O’Brien, Tintangle sold for €52,000 at the 2016 Goffs Land Rover Sale.
