Goodwood was the scene of one of Canford Cliffs’ greatest successes and it was his daughter Harlequeen (2f Canford Cliffs-Aurelia, by Rainbow Quest) who stole the limelight on her first racecourse outing on Tuesday.
Canford Cliffs, who has made a sensational start with his first crop, won the G1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and Harlequeen looked a filly with huge potential when winning on her first racecourse start by four and a half lengths.
The Mick Channon-trained filly, who was bred by Richard Moses Bloodstock, impressed her rider Silvestre de Sousa.
“Harlequeen is a nice filly, big and inexperienced and should improve. I like her. When I asked her to quicken up she put the race to bed,” said de Sousa
