Southern Cat (by Scat Daddy) winning in Chile

Scat Daddy has become a sire sensation in South America with a stream of brilliant Grade I winners including Southern Cat (3c Scat Daddy x Saturnal, by Seeker’s Reward), who captured the Grade I Clasico St Leger in Chile on the weekend.

Prepared by Juan Silva, Southern Cat won the Grade I Clasico Tanteo de Potrillos (pictured) over 1500 metres last season at two and took out this 2200 metre staying test by a head.

Southern Cat has won three races and placed six times from 14 starts.

A half-sister to Grade III winner Stalactita, Southern Cat is the best of seven winners from Saturnal.

He is one of 36 stakes-winners for Scat Daddy, whose brilliant Grade I winning son No Nay Never joins the Coolmore Ireland roster for 2015 at a fee of 20,000 euros.
