Talented performer Frac Daddy (4h Scat Daddy x Skippers’ Mate, by Skip Away) scored a resounding win in the Grade II Eclipse Stakes at Woodbine on Sunday.
Second in the Grade I Arkansas Derby at three, Frac Daddy was presented in top order by Kenny McPeek and strode away to win the 1 and 1/16th mile contest on the all weather surface by five lengths.
“He obviously loved this track and he’s won at Keeneland,” said Matt Shirer, assistant to winning trainer Ken McPeek.
“We’ll see what else is available for us. He’s grown a lot since his 3-year-old year. He’s a whole other horse now and we’re happy with him.”
Frac Daddy has the overall record of five wins and five seconds from 16 starts with prizemoney of $645,920, representing a good return on his $50,000 purchase price at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Frac Daddy is the best of three winners from stakes-placed Skipper’s Mate.
