First-season sire Canford Cliffs enjoyed an excellent weekend both in the sale ring and on the racecourse.
At Ripon on Friday evening, the Richard Fahey-trained Holy Grail (2f Canford Cliffs-Dashing Beauty, by Daggers Drawn) ran out a stylish winner on her first racecourse start in a five-furlong maiden.
“Holy Grail wants six furlongs. I thought she´d come home well,” said Fahey’s assistant, Robin O’Ryan, of the Duncan McGregor-bred filly.
Meanwhile, hot on the heels of a 300,000gns juvenile at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up, Canford Cliffs was responsible for a 320,000 euros two-year-old at Arqana’s sale on Saturday.
