Speedy mare Diamond Earth (4m Choisir x Face of the Earth, by Strategic) was an early season juvenile star winning the $250,000 Inglis Banner and $250,000 Inglis Nursery, her brilliance only improving with maturity as seen at Randwick on Saturday when she captured the Group III ATC The Nivison over 1200 metres.
The Anthony Cummings trained daughter of Choisir finished too well at her second run back from a spell to down Plucky Belle and win by three-quarters of a length, her overall record now five wins from 19 starts with prizemoney of $691,425.
A $60,000 purchase for her trainer from the Golden Grove draft at the 2011 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Diamond Earth is a half-sister to smart mare Halle Rocks being the second foal of stakes-placed Strategic mare Face of the Earth, a half-sister to Group III winner and Caulfield Guineas runner-up Face Value.
Diamond Earth was foaled and raised at Coolmore for her breeders Dr Denis O’Brien and his wife Claire, who retained Halle Rocks to race before sending this filly to the sales.
Face of the Earth produced a full sister to Diamond Earth this spring, another filly by Choisir.
