The Gurkha (Galileo) winning the French Guineas

The Gurkha another Classic star for Galileo

The unstoppable Galileo enjoyed another Classic success in Deauville on Sunday when Aidan O’Brien sent over The Gurkha (3c Galileo-Chintz, by Danehill Dancer) to win the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains. The lightly-raced three-year-old, previously an easy Navan maiden winner, took the step up in class in his stride as he went on to win France’s 2,000 Guineas by five and a half lengths. O’Brien said: ”We're delighted with him, we couldn't be happier with him. We’ve always thought he was a nice horse and when he won at Navan we thought he was really nice. "He has three options now - the G1 St James's Palace Stakes, the G1 French Derby and the G1 Epsom Derby. We'll let the dust settle for a week or 10 days and then we'll see." The Gurkha is owned by Michael Tabor, Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor.
