Hannon has big hopes for Strategic Prince colt

First-crop Strategic Prince colt Redact (2c Strategic Prince-Rainbow Java, by Fairy King) looks set to try his hand in black-type company after an impressive victory on Saturday night.

Richard Hannon’s charge stormed to a five-length success for owners Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds in a competitive Salisbury novices’ event that stablemate and subsequent G1 winner Dick Turpin had won two years earlier.
Writing on his website www.richardhannonracing.tv on Monday, Hannon reported: “The second batch of two-year-olds are beginning to come through, and they are scopier types who look to have a big future.

“Redact only cost 25,000 euros, but we picked up Dick Turpin for the same money and it looks as if the Kennett Valley team have bought a good ‘un. He is by Strategic Prince and worked very well from day one, so, though he made his winning debut on the all-weather, we knew that he was better than that, and, having won five lengths here, we can now look to step him up in grade.”
