Exciting three year-old My Favorite (3g Haradasun x Crimson Lane, by Danehill) won his third race from four starts at the last Sha Tin meeting of the season on Sunday.
Trained by Caspar Fownes and ridden by Zac Purton, My Favorite turned in his best performance to date, thrashing his rivals to win the Class Three sprint over 1200 metres by three lengths after leading throughout.
Second when making his debut on May 11, My Favorite has won every start since and looks a bright prospect for next season.
Bred in Australia by Bylong Park Thoroughbreds, My Favorite was purchased as a weanling by Curraghmore Stud and re-offered at the NZB Select Yearling Sale where he fetched $31,000 and is now part-owned by Canto-pop idol Aaron Kwok Fu-shing, who brings with him to the track a legion of fans every time he appears.
My Favorite is the second winner for Crimson Lane, a half-sister by Danehill to Group III winner Crimson Reign.
A triple Group I winner of the AJC Doncaster Handicap, STC George Ryder Stakes and Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes, Haradasun stands this spring at the modest fee of $8,800.
