Haradasun has been churning out the winners in recent weeks and one of his most promising has been My Favorite (3g Haradasun x Crimson Lane, by Danehill), who scored his second win from three starts at Sha Tin on Wednesday.
A close second when making his debut on May 11, the Caspar Fownes trained My Favorite has now won his next two starts and looked good when forging clear to win over 1200 metres with Tommy Berry in the saddle.
“One thing about him, he gets to the front and then stargazes a little bit,” Berry told South China Morning Post.
“That’s just his lack of experience and it shows that there is improvement in him next season when he learns to focus on his racing better.”
Bred in Australia by Bylong Park Thoroughbreds, My Favorite was purchased as a weanling by Curraghmore Stud and re-offered at the NZB Select Yearling Sale where he fetched $31,000 and is now part-owned by Canto-pop idol Aaron Kwok Fu-shing, who brought with him to the track a legion of fans.
My Favorite is the second winner for Crimson Lane, a half-sister by Danehill to Group III winner Crimson Reign.
A triple Group I winner of the AJC Doncaster Handicap, STC George Ryder Stakes and Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes, Haradasun stands this spring at the modest fee of $8,800.
