Hat-Trick for Kingdom of Dreams

A homebred for Teeley Assets, promising gelding Kingdom of Dreams (4g Fastnet Rock x Unusual Choice, by Redoute’s Choice) completed a winning hat-trick when saluting at Moonee Valley on Saturday. Prepared by Mark Kavanagh, Kingdom of Dreams had won at Cranbourne and Bendigo at his first two runs back from spell and handled the step up to Saturday class with ease to power clear and win over 1600 metres by a length. A horse with a history of getting hot and worked up pre-race, the four year-old is beginning to conquer his nerves as his recent good form would suggest. "He’s slowly coming right this preparation. He’s still getting hot, but he’s racing very, very well,” said Kavanagh. "He’s pretty good in the stable and pretty good at the track, it is just race day that stirs him. "It’s in the mounting yard and going to the gates that the problem surfaces, but I think he’s a really good horse.” A winner of six of his 13 starts, Kingdom of Dreams is one of two winners from Redoute’s Choice mare Unusual Choice, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Winged Prayer from the family of Champion Two and Three Year Old Tierce. Unusual Choice foaled again to Fastnet Rock this spring producing another colt.
