Impressive Santa Anita Winner for Lucky

One Lucky Dane (Lookin' At Lucky) winning at Santa Anita

Exciting prospect One Lucky Dane (3c Lookin at Lucky x Echo Harbor, by Boston Harbor) was branded a TDN Rising Star at two and looks ready to fulfil his potential following a resounding victory at Santa Anita.

Having his first run since finishing sixth in the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile last year, the Bob Baffert trained son of Lookin at Lucky made a one act affair of the one mile allowance coasting clear to win by nine and three-quarter lengths, his second win from five starts.

“We were hoping he would do something like that, but he’s coming off a layoff,” said winning trainer Bob Baffert.

“We were disappointed after the Breeders’ Cup. We freshened him up, and here he is. I was hoping this would prep him for something really big, so hopefully, it will.”

The top seller for his sire in 2013 when fetching $490,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, One Lucky Dane runs for Michael Lund Petersen and is a half-brother to Grade III winner Western Smoke.
