He’s a blue-blooded son of Encosta de Lago and Eye the World (3g Encosta de Lago x World Peace, by Danehill) put it altogether to score an impressive win at at Werribee on Sunday.
Prepared by David Hayes, Eye the World had raced erratically at his only two previous starts and despite again showing his waywardness tendencies, the handsome chestnut proved a class above.
Slow to jump for Chad Schofield, he settled at the rear in the early stages before being set alight to circle the field and take the lead.
From there the son of champion sire Encosta de Lago cruised along comfortably and when asked to quicken in the straight, dropped his rivals cold to win the 1400 metre maiden by five lengths.
A $240,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer, Eye the World was bred by Baramul Stud and is the third winner from three foals to race from Group III winning Danehill mare World Peace, a daughter of Group II winner Light Up The World from the family of Denise’s Joy.
