Most Improved off mark

The famous colours of Gerard Augustin-Normand were carried by Tremont (2c Most Improved-Sheema, by Teofilo) when triumphing in France on Thursday.

The Stephane Wattel-trained colt, bred by Jedburgh Stud and Thierry de la Heronniere, became a first winner for Most Improved when winning a five and a half furlongs conditions event at Saint Malo.

The debutant, owned by Augustin-Normand and Philippe Augier, raced at the rear of the field before showing an explosive turn of foot to claim victory in impressive fashion in the home straight.

An outstanding 2yo and winner of the G1 St James’s Palace Stakes, Most Improved is standing for €4,000 in 2017.
