5-length Camelot winner ‘very useful performer in making’

Fighting Irish (2c Camelot-Quixotic, by Pivotal) looked another hugely exciting prospect for in-form Camelot when winning by five lengths at Yarmouth on Thursday. Trained by Harry Dunlop and ridden by Stevie Donohoe, the juvenile made all to win the six-furlong contest in emphatic style.

The Racing Post Analysis noted: “The winner proved a class apart….FIGHTING IRISH careered away when asked for everything and was an emphatic winner….it marks the colt down as a very useful performer in the making.”

Donohoe added: “Fighting Irish did things the hard way. He won on soft ground at Salisbury and he enjoyed it out in front.” Bred by Kilcarn Stud, the son of Camelot was bought for £70,000 by Stroud Coleman as a yearling last summer.
