Japanese Stakes-Winner for Majestic Warrior

Red hot young sire Majestic Warrior has proved his stripes in the US this year and added a new string to his bow at the weekend with his first stakes-winner in Japan after Best Warrior (3c Majestic Warrior x Flirtatious Miss, by Mr Greeley) captured the Group III Unicorn Stakes in Tokyo.

Trained by Sei Ishizaka, Best Warrior forged clear to win the one mile event on turf by a length and a quarter, taking his overall record to three wins and two seconds from six starts.

A $400,000 purchase from the 2012 Ocala Bloodstock April 2YO’s in Training Sale, Best Warrior runs for Yukio Baba and is the best of two winners from Flirtatious Miss, a half-sister to Grade II winner Prospectress and Grade III winner Across the Rhine.

Best Warrior is the sixth stakes-winner for Majestic Warrior, whose oldest progeny are just  three year olds.
