Juvenile Stakes-Winner for Giant’s Causeway

Giant's Causeway head shot

Promising filly Lira (2f Giant’s Causeway x Lerici, by Woodman) made it two wins in as many starts when taking out the $75,000 Wait a While Stakes at Gulfstream on the weekend.

The Todd Pletcher trained filly powered to the line late to win the one mile contest on turf by two and a quarter lengths.

“She really hasn’t gotten it all together yet,” said Anthony Sciametta, assistant trainer to Pletcher.

“I think she’s really going to be OK down the road.”

A $170,000 Keneeland September Yearling purchase, Lira is a half-sister to stakes-winner Avenge from Lerici.

Lira is the 159th stakes-winner for champion sire Giant’s Causeway.
