Koptoon another smart 2yo for Rip

There were some well-regarded runners in Kempton’s six-furlong juvenile maiden on Wednesday evening but one of the field proved much too strong for his opposition.

The Tom Dascombe-trained Koptoon (2c Rip Van Winkle-Mania, by Danehill), bred by Bearstone Stud, continued an excellent season for Rip Van Winkle when cruising home two and three-quarter lengths clear of the field in the style of a smart juvenile.

The Racing Post’s Analysis noted: “Always in the control of the race (after getting over to the rail), he put in some nice work in the straight….. this was a good showing and he should continue to progress.”
