The David Wachman-trained Tannery (3f Dylan Thomas-Danse Grecque, by Sadler’s Wells) continued a great year for Dylan Thomas when winning the Listed Martin Molony Stakes by three lengths at Limerick on Friday night.
The tough filly also scored in Listed company at Gowran Park in May and looks sure to pick up further black-type for her sire.
“They went a good gallop and she travelled really well. She came with one run and picked up very well,” jockey Wayne Lordan told www.irishracing.com. “She enjoyed the ground and she is a smart filly. There are loads of those mares, fillies races for her now.”
Tannery was winning an hour after the Aidan O’Brien-trained Battle Of Saratoga (3c Dylan Thomas-Freedom, by Second Empire) ran out and impressive maiden winner on the same Limerick card.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, Dylan Thomas picked up further black-type when Athens (3c Dylan Thomas-Rafina, by Mr Prospector) finished second for O’Brien in the G3 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot.
