Bargy Lady (Yeats) winning at Listowel

Listed winner for in-form Yeats

Exciting Yeats four-year-old Capivari (4g Yeats-Plique A Jour, by Hernando) scored in black-type company at Auteuil on Thursday to continue a great run for his sire. Francois Cottin’s charge, bred by the Marquesa de Moratalla, faced 15 rivals in the Listed Prix Alain et Gilles de Goulaine and came home in front in good style by a length and a quarter.

This latest victory for Yeats comes two days after Willie Mullins sent out Bargy Lady (4f Yeats-Jolivia, by Dernier Empereur) to win on her debut in a Listowel bumper (pictured).

Bred by Philip Hore, she looked a hugely exciting prospect as she cruised home 15 lengths clear of the field. The Racing Post analysis read: “BARGY LADY was content to sit just behind the pace and closed up to challenge fairly effortlessly early in the straight. What she did from there though could only have been done by a very smart filly as she quickened up really impressively in the deep ground and left her rivals standing. She was further clear at the line than anywhere else and she looks a real prospect. To see what she can do on better ground is eagerly awaited.”
