Admirable stayer High Jinx (6g High Chaparral-Leonara, by Surumu) starred in the G1 Prix du Cadran at Longchamp on Sunday when claiming another top-grade success for High Chaparral.
The six-year-old, bred by Haras de la Perelle, held off Bathyron to win the prestigious prize for trainer James Fanshawe.
“High Jinx is a horse that I like a lot,” said Fanshawe. “He has been placed twice in this race before so we are very happy to have finally won it. Luckily, the jockey didn’t listen to my orders and he made the running. It was a real test of stamina and it worked. He was superb this morning and I was confident. We will see if we come back for the G1 Prix Royal-Oak.”
