Madefromlucky Wins Grade III Greenwood Cup

It’s been a long time between drinks for Madefromlucky (5h Lookin at Lucky x Home from Oz, by Pulpit), who finally returned to winning form when taking out the $200,000 Grade III Greenwood Park Cup at Parx Racing on Monday.

Second and fourth behind Triple Crown hero winner American Pharoah in the Grade II Rebel Stakes and Grade I Arkansas Derby, the Todd Pletcher trained Madefromlucky won the Grade II West Virginia Derby at three but has been winless since then.

He turned that form around to score a resounding victory in the mile and a half contest, bolting right away to win by more than 12 lengths.

Madefromlucky has won five races and placed ten times from 23 starts earning over $1.2million in prizemoney.

A half-brother to stakes-placed A Shin Gold from a full sister to champion sire Tapit, Madefromlucky was a $70,000 Keeneland September purchase that was re-sold for $150,000 at the OBS March 2YO Sale.
