Mahler 4yo wins in style on bumper debut

Glen Forsa (4g Mahler-Outback Ivy, by Bob Back), carrying the well-known colours of Tim Radford, kicked off in his racing career in the best possible fashion on Saturday when winning a Huntingdon bumper. The son of Mahler, bred by Jonathan Deacon, was sent off a well-supported second favourite for his racecourse debut and cruised home six lengths clear of the field. Trainer Mick Channon told the Racing Post: “Glen Forsa is lovely horse who is quite talented. He is still a big baby and we´ll see how he comes out of this.”

The same paper’s analysts commented that it was “An informative bumper and an authoritative winner. GLEN FORSA ran out a smooth winner and looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Held up out the back in the early stages, he gradually picked off rivals and quickened readily clear in the final furlong, having shown greenness when first pulled out to challenge. He´s still considered a baby by connections and whatever he does this season is sure to be surpassed in future.”
