Maybellene Wins Again

Promising filly Maybellene (2f Lookin at Lucky x Greathearted, by Giant’s Causeway) posted her second victory when scoring a determined win at Santa Anita in allowance company.

Having her fifth start, the Bob Baffert trained filly bounced back from an unplaced run last start in the Grade I Chandelier Stakes when she stumbled at the start.

This time she stalked the leader and did best in the run to the line to take the one mile contest by a neck.

A $140,000 Keeneland September yearling, Maybellene is from Greathearted, an unraced half-sister to Grade II winner Rossini and Grade III winner and sire Elusive Quality.

Maybellene is another well above average winner for her exciting young sire Lookin at Lucky, the leading North American First Crop Sire by winners.
