Meydan Win for Viscount Nelson

Talented entire Viscount Nelson (5h Giant’s Causeway x Imagine, by Sadler’s Wells) struck top form at Meydan in Dubai on Thursday winning the Grade II Al Fahidi Fort.

Having his second run for new trainer Mike de Kock, Viscount Nelson improved on his last start second at the same venue to win the 1600 metre feature by half a length.

Viscount Nelson did his early racing for Aidan O’Brien in Europe and had won three previous races including a couple of Listed events in Ireland, his overall record now four wins and six placings from 16 starts.

Viscount Nelson is one of three stakes-winners produced by champion Sadler’s Wells filly Imagine, winner of the Group I Irish Thousand Guineas and Oaks.

A first class producer with four foals to race all winners, Imagine has also left Group I winner Horatio Nelson, Group II winner Kitty Matcham and the Group I placed Red Rock Canyon.

A blue-blood herself, Imagine is a half-sister to champion racehorse Generous and four other stakes-winners being from celebrated producer Doff the Derby.
