Milan’s son Jezki looks outstanding in G3 win

Jezki (4g Milan-La Noire, by Phardante) looks one of this season’s brightest novice hurdling prospects after an impressive victory in the G3 Fishery Lane Hurdle at Naas on Saturday. A dual bumper winner last season, the Milan gelding had easily won a maiden hurdle on his first jumping start last month and took the step up to Graded company in his stride at Naas, running out an eight-length winner in the colours of breeder Gerard McGrath. Trainer Jessica Harrington is now likely to aim Jezki at the G1 Royal Bond Hurdle at Fairyhouse. Bookmakers Stan James rate Jezki a 14/1 chance for the 2013 G1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham and Harrington told irishracing.com: “Jezki was good – I was worried about the ground as it was heavy but he coped with it well and did it well. His jumping was more professional today and he needed that run. The Royal Bond Hurdle is his next port of call.”
