Fastnet Rock x Fleur Dehere filly

Million Dollar Filly for Fastnet Rock

Champion sire Fastnet Rock was quick to make his mark at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with a stunning filly from Fleur de Here selling for $1,150,000 on day one of the sale. A three-quarter sister to stakes-winner Zamzam, who was placed in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes, the eye-catching bay was consigned by Newgate Farm and secured by Cloud 9 Thoroughbreds. “She was just an amazing moving filly, a good body. She ticked every box, she has a great pedigree and it's always good buying a filly that looks like a colt,” Brent Stanley of Cloud 9 told ANZ Bloodstock News. “She was one of those horses. The client has had success with me picking them for them before. Hopefully I can get one over the line as well. “The sale is amazing, high quality horses. I have been underbidder on several horses and the couple that I really wanted you have to pay a bit extra for. We bid more for her and got her at the right price.”

Bhima Thoroughbreds also enjoyed a big result selling a Fastnet Rock filly from Dance Mix (USA) for $850,000 to Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock. The filly is from a half-sister to the dam of this season’s Group II winning juvenile Tulip.

The sale continues.
