Mongolian Khan Honoured in New Zealand

Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor) winning the ATC Australian Derby (Gr.1) at Randwick

Outstanding Australian bred stayer Mongolian Khan (4h Holy Roman Emperor x Centafit, by Centaine) has dominated the annual New Zealand Racing Awards claiming top honours as Horse of the Year, Champion 3YO and Champion Stayer.

Prepared by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, Mongolian Khan has won seven of nine starts earning more than $1.9 million in prizemoney with highlight wins in the Group I ATC Australian Derby and the New Zealand Derby.

Raced by the Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry, heĀ is back in work preparing for a tilt at the Group I VRC Melbourne Cup in November.

Mongolian Khan was one of five Australian stakes-winners last season for Holy Roman Emperor, who is back in Australia for the 2015 breeding season.
