Vague Nouvelle (3f Mastercraftsman-Zona, by Mr Greeley), a first-crop daughter of Mastercraftsman, added another stakes success to her CV in Milan on Sunday.
Scuderia Incolinx’s home-bred filly, a G3 winner in April, dominated the 11-runner Premio Royal Mares in which she saw off some older opposition with ease. Having finished eighth in th G2 Italian Oaks, she appreciated the step back to a mile.
“She is the best filly in the country over 1,600 metres and confirmed that with an easy win. She had a bad trip in the Oaks but she is a pure miler, and a good one,” jockey Mirco Demuro told TDN.
