The Karl Burke-trained Arthur MartinLeake (2c Alfred Nobel-Golden Shine, by Royal Applause) proved too smart for his rivals when easily winning a Yarmouth maiden on Thursday.
The first-crop Alfred Nobel colt was sent off odds-on favourite for the six-furlong contest and cruised to a three-length victory under Ben Curtis.
“I am delighted for the horse as he deserved to win,” Burke told the Racing Post. “He will now go for the sales race at Doncaster where he should get in.”
Arthur MartinLeake was bred by Thomas Hassett and was bought by Burke for £15,500 at the Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale.
