Lightly raced entire Corporate Jungle (4h Giant’s Causeway x Lady Carson, by Carson City) posted a career best win in the Grade III Appleton Stakes at Gulfstream on the weekend.
Trained by Chad Brown, Corporate Jungle is a May foal that has been given time to mature and looks set for a very good year judging by this victory.
He travelled kindly back in the field before looming up three wide on the home turn and powering home for an emphatic length win in the mile event, his overall record now three wins and a second from six starts.
“We thought he had stakes potential,” said Chad Brown.
“He’s the kind of horse that just needed to mature a little bit. I thought down here he came out of his races a lot better than he did last summer. I think that has to do with his overall physical maturity and he can handle the rigors of racing. He should be set up now for a good year.”
Brown is looking to raise the bar for Corporate Jungle and may head towards the Grade I Woodford Reserve Turf Classic at Churchill Downs on May 5.
A $210,000 purchase from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Corporate Jungle runs for the Gary and Mary West Stables and is a brother to stakes-winner Followmyfootsteps from stakes-winner Lady Carson.
He is the 106th stakes-winner for champion sire Giant’s Causeway, who is setting the pace on the North American Sires List for 2012.
