Newcomer Rosie another for Getaway

Getaway had his second decent bumper winner in as many days after One For Rosie (4g Getaway-Whisky Rose, by Old Vic) made the best possible start to his racing career at Bangor on Tuesday.

The four-year-old led home a 1-2 for his sire when seeing off Neachells Bridge (5g Getaway-Strawberry Lane, by Moscow Society) to win by three lengths.

Trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies for Paul and Clare Rooney, the four-year-old was sent off 5/2 favourite for this debut run and won with ease.

Bred by Distillery Stud, he was bought by Kevin Ross for 48,000 euros at the Goffs Land Rover Sale.

He was winning 24 hours after Gigginstown House Stud’s Imperial Way (5g Getaway-Stormy Moment, by Glacial Storm) scored by five lengths at Wexford in another 1-2 for Getaway.
