Kitty is latest winner for red-hot Cat
4th September 2008
A purple patch for One Cool Cat continued at Redcar on Thursday when the Mick Quinlan-trained One Cool Kitty (2f One Cool Cat-Exultate Jubilate, by With Approval) beat 19 rivals to land an ultra-competitive nursery.
The filly, bred by Hunscote House Farm Stud, was following in the steps of Normandie Stud’s home-bred Cat Patrol (2f One Cool Cat-Ambrosine, by Nashwan), who was an easy winner at Lingfield on Thursday for trainer Harry Dunlop.
Two days earlier, the Karl Burke-trained Magic Cat (2g One Cool Cat-Magic Music, by Magic Ring) readily landed a Ripon conditions event in the colours of owner-breeder Ray Bailey.
"He's a lovely, big horse who we've always loved. It was great to see him win, beating two really nice sorts," said Bailey, who is looking at the Listed Harry Rosebery Stakes at Ayr for Magic Cat’s next run.
One Cool Cat has already had four stakes winners from his first crop in Icesolator, Smokey Storm, Knavesmire and Diglett and the Andreas Wohler-trained Sarabia (2f One Cool Cat-Siberienne, by Kingmambo) came close to making it number five when runner-up in the Listed Kronimus Rennen at Baden-Baden on Tuesday.
