Superb filly Nightflower (3f Dylan Thomas-Night Of Magic, by Peintre Celebre) enjoyed a well-deserved G1 success at Cologne on Sunday when winning the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden in the colours of Stall Nizza.
The Dylan Thomas filly finished two lengths clear of four-year-old Sirius, with Qatari-trained Dubday a further head back in third.
A delighted winning trainer, Peter Schiergen, commented: “She hit the front too early last time at Baden Baden but achieved a lot more today. We could go for either a Group 1 in Italy or to Munich with her now. I think the owner would like to race her for another year and not breed from her yet.”
Winning rider Andrasch Starke added: “Anyone who saw the mare in the parade ring would have realised she had a first-rate chance. She has really shone this season and it is fantastic to ride such a great horse.”
