No Nay Never winning the G2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot

No Nay Never is French 2YO Of Year

Scat Daddy’s US-based son No Nay Never (3c Scat Daddy-Cat’s Eye Witness, by Elusive Quality) was named France’s 2013 Two-Year-Old Of The Year this week at the Courses et Elevages Horse Of The Year Awards.

The Wesley Ward-trained colt, who was unbeaten as a juvenile, enchanted French racegoers at Deauville in August when travelling over to win the G1 Prix Morny in brilliant fashion. He had earlier won the G2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.

European racing fans are likely to see more of No Nay Never in 2014 with Royal Ascot and the G1 July Cup at Newmarket reportedly on his agenda.

Another winner at the Horse Of The Year Awards was Galileo’s son Intello (4c Galileo-Impressionnante, by Danehill). The Wertheimer brother’s home-bred was named Three-Year-Old Male of the Year after a season in which he won the G1 Prix du Jockey-Club.
