The Aidan O’Brien-trained Perfect Storm (2c Excelebration-Lady Miletrian, by Barathea) scored at Navan on Wednesday to become the 18th first-crop winner for red-hot Excelebration.
The Lodge Park Stud-bred colt, a 475,000gns yearling, made all to take the mile maiden in taking style under the trainer’s daughter Ana O’Brien (pictured).
“I got into a nice easy lead on him and he did it well and galloped to the line well,” said the winning rider. “He keeps pulling out a little bit and he’s improving all the time.”
Meanwhile in France on Monday, the newcomer Tulipa Rosa (2f Excelebration-Tulipe Rose, by Sharmadal) won the Prix Tigertail by three and a half lengths.
A day before, Excelebration gained more black type when German-trained Fulminato (2c Excelebration-Fulminante, by Dashing Blade) finished runner-up in the G3 Preis Des Winterfavoriten at Cologne.
