Rose blossoms with Fairyhouse Listed win

Danehill Dancer filly Rose Bonheur (3f Danehill Dancer-Red Feather, by Marju) looks a name to follow this summer after an impressive Listed success at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Lady O’Reilly’s home-bred was winning her fourth race of the year and, although she only captured the six-furlong Belgrave Stakes by half a length, she had to pass almost the whole field after being tardily away.

“She missed the kick for some reason today, which was surprising,” winning rider Declan McDonogh told “She got bustled about a bit, but they went a nice pace up front and the splits came at the right time. I always knew she was getting there. She’s a lovely filly.”

Fabian Burke, winning trainer Kevin Prendergast’s travelling head lad, added: “She’s progressing all the time. There is a Listed race at Naas in 10 days for her. She’s doing well.”
