It’s next stop the G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes for Duntle (4f Danehill Dancer-Lady Angola, by Lord At War) after the Danehill Dancer filly captured the G3 Amethyst Stakes at Leopardstown on her seasonal comeback on Sunday.
The improving filly finished first past the post in last season’s G1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown before losing the race in the stewards’ room and looks to have a bright year ahead after this promising return.
“It was a satisfactory way to start Duntle’s season,” Wachman told racingpost.com.“She quickened to lead and then got a bit tired in the ground. She wants better ground. Royal Ascot is the plan.”
Duntle, who is owned by the Niarchos family’s Flaxman Holdings, was bred in Ireland by Airlie Stud.
